BRIGGS, Leona Mae - Age 60, of Flint, died Tuesday, July 15, 2003 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1PM Thursday, July 24, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Burial will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1-4 and 6-8PM Wednesday at the funeral home. Mrs. Briggs was born April 16, 1943 in Flint, the daughter of Leo and Emma (Mellick) Leonard. Surviving are: 2 children, Robert Briggs of Flint, Janet Berry of the U.S. Army stationed at Ft. Carson, CO; grandson, Jordon Berry; mother, Emma 'Marge' Leonard of Gaines; brother, Lloyd Markell; sisters, Melva Sandusky, Luzetta Chandler, Lela Tabor, Emma Collins, Beryl Woodin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Briggs, 2 sons, Jonathon and Thomas Briggs, sister, Janice Buys.
