Lester Theodore "Les" Lindsley

LINDSLEY, Lester Theodore "Les" - Age 80, of Holly, passed away, August 18, 2023. Private services will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the Humane Society of Genesee County in honor of his beloved cat, Lulu. Lester was born April 10, 1943 in Holly, the son of Theodore and Barbara (Crawford) Lindsley. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, where he served as a jet mechanic from 1961-1966. In 1967 he went to work for the United States Postal Service, until his retirement in 1998. Les had a huge heart and loved helping those in need, especially those on his mail route. With a great love of the outdoors, following retirement he worked for Holly Township Parks from 1999-2011. One of his proudest accomplishments was helping to start the Girls Little League in Holly, which he did for his daughters. Les was a diehard MSU fan through and through. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Donna (Merritt) Lindsley; daughters, Lana, Diane (Anne) and LeeAnn; grandchildren, Leslie (Trenten), Gabrielle (John), Kara (Tyler), Emilee (Chase) and Nick (Grace); four great-grandchildren; half-sister, Eileen. He was preceded in death by his half-sisters, Marilyn and Ida. The family wishes to give special thanks to the team at Compassus Hospice. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
