Linda Mary Baker, 75, of Swartz Creek, Michigan, passed away on June 29, 2026. Linda was raised in Ferndale, Michigan, and graduated from Hazel Park schools. She was the youngest of seven children and the only girl. Linda was a tough cookie with a big personality, a strong spirit, and a heart that was even bigger.
She married her husband, Butch, in 1971 and had the opportunity to live in several different states during his time in the Navy. Eventually, they found their way back home to Michigan, where they settled in Romulus and began building their beautiful family. Later, they moved to Swartz Creek, where they made their home and have remained ever since.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband, Kelvin “Butch” Baker; their daughter, Amy Baker; grandchildren Justin (Sara) Svinarich, Kaelin Baker, and Ella Baker; great-grandchildren Ethan, Kelvin, and Harper; and her brother Gary (Sybil) Robbins. As well as many family and "bonus" family members.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elwood and Alice Robbins; her daughter, Jodie Baker; and her brothers Jack, James "Jimmy", William "Billy", David, and Ralph.
Linda found joy in the simple things; playing rummy, Yahtzee, and solitaire mostly. She was also known for being a bit competitive at Tetris back in the day. She loved her family deeply and cherished her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She also had many “bonus” children who lovingly called her Mom or Nana and friends she considered family.
Linda had a huge heart and was the kind of person who opened her home and her life to anyone and everyone. She was a storyteller who could go on for days, often sharing the same stories many times; but her family and “bonus” family never minded because they loved listening to her talk and being wrapped up in her memories.
Her laugh was one of a kind; contagious and unforgettable. It is a sound that will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of hearing it.
Linda leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, laughter, and a family that will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
