LEONARD, Lonnie Joseph, Sr. - Age 90, of Swartz Creek, died May 9, 2024. Private arrangements were entrusted to Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek.

Lonnie was born on January 18, 1934 in Morganton, NC the son of the late David and Mary (Freeze) Leonard. He graduated from North Carolina School for the Deaf. Lonnie worked for GM V-8 Flint Engine for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the Flint Association for the Deaf. Lonnie enjoyed woodworking and he was a master craftsman.

He is survived by his son, Theodore Leonard of Greenfield, MN; daughter, Suzanne Conner of Houston, TX; eight grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; brother, David Leonard; several nieces, nephews and extended family members. Lonnie was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy; son, Lonnie Leonard Jr.; granddaughter, Cody Leonard; brother, Richard Leonard; and sister, Doris Bridges.
