Lorraine Evelyn Conklin

CONKLIN, Lorraine Evelyn  Age 68, of Perry, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Saturday, June 7, 2003 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Interment will be held at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-9 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Mrs. Conklin was born August 19, 1934 in Owosso, the daughter of Floyd and Bertha (Nelson) Barnes. She married Charlie Conklin and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Conklin was a graduate of Birch Run High School and had lived in Flint and Owosso for many years. She retired from General Motors in 1994 after 18 years of service. Surviving are: three children, Dian M. and husband, Paul Brown of Mt. Morris, Danny L. and wife, Cindy Schabel of Swartz Creek, Deborah L. and husband, Sean Martin of Perry; five grandsons, Brian Schabel of Flint, Daniel Smith, Luke Smith, both of FL, Matt Schabel, Richard Schabel, both of Swartz Creek; two great-grandchildren, Justin and Missy Smith of FL; five sisters, Verla Roberts of Lake Village, Beverly Wood of Flint, Wanda Tkazcy of Flint, Frances Ross of Owosso, Madeline Miniar of Mt. Morris; four brothers, Donald and wife, Verla De Long, Kenneth and wife, Betty De Long of Owosso, Jim De Long of Mt. Pleasant, Lauren De Long of Owosso.
