EMMERT, Louis Stanley, Jr.- age 97 of Flint, formerly of Fenton, passed away December 11, 2025. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, December 18, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church 600 N. Adelaide, Fenton. Rev. Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Visitation 2:00 PM-8:00 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes Fenton Chapel 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton where a rosary will be prayed at 6:30PM. Visitation will continue from 10:00 am Thursday until the time of Mass at church. Memorial contributions would be appreciated to St. John Catholic Church towards future paintings and murals to adorn the church.
Louis was born January 7, 1928 in Detroit, the son of Louis Stanley and Elsie (O'Neal) Emmert, Sr. He married Rosemary MacDonald on July 22, 1950 in Detroit. She preceded him in death in 1998. Louis later married the former June Fleckenstein. He graduated from Redford High School in Detroit and later attended the Business School at the University of Detroit. Louis proudly served in the U.S.Navy during WWII. He was the former owner of the Emmert Chevrolet Dealership in Detroit. Later Louis was involved in Real Estate development projects in the Traverse City area. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Fenton, the Huron River Club in Farmington Hills and the Western Golf Club. Louis was an accomplished professional actor and member of the Screen Actors Guild. He had roles in the movies, Hoffa and The Rosary Murders and on Unsolved Mysteries on television, and on many industrial films and radio shows. Louis enjoyed international travel and did volunteer work at St. John Church.
Louis is survived by his wife June; son, John Emmert; daughter, Vickie (Steve) Halfyard, granddaughter, Darcy (Mick) Dowd; great granddaughters, Erin and Lauren Dowd.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Rosemary(MacDonald) Emmert; daughter Marie Emmert; and son Karl Emmert. Online tributes may be shared at www/sharpfuneralhomes.com.
