Louise C. Thomas

Louise C. Thomas, of Michigan, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the remarkable age of 101.

Louise was born on January 11, 1925, in Cullman, Alabama, to Homer and Dellie Cone. One of five sisters, she grew up in Alabama before moving to Michigan, where she built a long and meaningful life. Louise worked for General Motors at Turnstat for 30 years and was among the first employees hired there. She was also a proud member of the Eagles and, along with her husband, Dale, was active in both the Eagles and the UAW.

Louise enjoyed the simple things in life. She loved birds and gardening, took pride in keeping a clean and orderly home, and was a great cook. She had a wonderful sense of humor, sometimes a little raunchy, and was never afraid to make people laugh. Above all, Louise was a caring woman, a devoted mother, and someone who made a lasting impression on the people around her. Louise married Dale Craig. They remained active in their community and enjoyed being involved with the organizations that meant so much to them, spending many wonderful years together before Dale's passing in 1999.

Louise is survived by her children, Connie Selvera and John (Diana) Thomas; grandchildren, Frankie and Jonny Thomas, Sheri, and Teressa; great-grandchildren, Gerald J. Heit and Danielle Heit; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Craig; children, Jerry Key, James A. Key, and Frank B. Thomas; grandsons, Gerald G. Heit and Christopher; parents, Homer and Dellie Cone; and sisters, Lilly, Eunice, Ruby, and Lillian.

Louise lived a long life filled with hard work, family, laughter, and the many people she cared for along the way. At 101, she leaves behind a family who will carry her memory with them. Louise will be laid to rest at Flint Memorial Park in Mt. Morris, Michigan. All services will be private.
