BARKLEY, Margaret Elizabeth - Age 89, of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Friday, November 8, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Pastor Bill Moull officiating. Burial immediately following in Sunset Hills Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Thursday from 2-4 and 6-9 PM and Friday from 12:00 PM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to Word Of Life, c/o Ken Dady (grandson). Margaret was born February 15, 1924 in Flint, the daughter of John Joseph and Marian (Demoines) Kelly. She married Merritt H. Barkley July 29, 1946 in Angola, IN and he preceded her in death August 18, 1997. She had been employed by Buick Motors during WWII. Margaret attended Linden Free Methodist Church. She is survived by: 3 children, Robert and wife Kitty Barkley of Swartz Creek, Ruth and husband Ben Hooker of Flint, and Marian and husband Matthew Allinger of Swartz Creek; 4 children by marriage, Doris Brinkley of Flint, Phyllis Barkley of East Tawas, Harvey and wife Lynn Barkley of Alpena, and Ellen and husband Gordon Parker of Millington; several loved grandchildren and great grandchildren; 3 brothers, Fred and wife Helen Kelly, Gerald and wife Patsy Kelly, and Joe DeMoines; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; 9 siblings, Dorothy Landon, Jack Kelly, Mary Johnson, Earl Kelly, Robert Sharp, Ruth Dye, Ralph Kelly, Minnie Armstrong, and Patrick Kelly.
