Margaret Reid

REID, Margaret Rita - age 69, passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at home. She was born on December 4, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan to the late William Joseph Stairs & Marianna Justine (Luther) Stairs.

Peggie was a hardworking woman with a heart of gold. She was a skilled paramedic instructor for many years. Her calm demeanor allowed her to thrive under pressure in the emergency room. Upon her well- deserved retirement, Peggie became an avid gardener and was active in the Red Hat Society. Above all else, Peggie loved to cook and spend time with her friends and family. She will be dearly missed.

Left to cherish Peggie’s memory are her beloved husband of 47 years, Mr. James Ernest Reid of Murrells Inlet; their children, Michael Reid and his wife, Dawn of Michigan & Kimberly Bruno of Michigan; her adoring grandchildren, Caleb Reid, Alexis Bruno, Cody Bruno & Charlie Bruno; great-grandson, Ty Bruno; brothers, Denis Stairs of Tennessee, & Joseph Stairs of Florida; sister, Mary Packard of Florida; as well as several nieces, nephews & cousins; a large, loving extended family and many supportive friends and neighbors.

Visitation will be 6-8 PM Thursday, June 25, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton. A Committal Service will be held 2:30 PM Friday, June 26 at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 6200 Belford Rd., Holly.
