Margaurite Helen Benn

BENN, Margaurite Helen - age 88, of Flint, died Monday, September 18, 2006 at Durand Convalescent Center. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Friday, September 22, 2006 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek with Fr. Amos Wischmeyer officiating. Interment will follow at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-8 PM Wednesday and 1-3 and 5-8 PM Thursday at the funeral home. Mrs. Benn was born May 26, 1918 in New York, the daughter of Frank and Helen (Themak) Houghtaling. She married Kenneth Benn and he preceded her in death in 1989. Mrs. Benn retired from AC Spark Plug after 25 years of service. Surviving are: sister, Gertrude 'Nell' (Robert) Huff of Durand; nine nieces and nephews, Eddie (Doris) Houghtaling, James (Eve) Houghtaling, Phyllis (James) McLucas, Robert (Nancy) Huff, James (Gladys) Huff, Patricia (Tony) Humphry, Michael Huff, Dan (Susie) Huff, Nancy (Tim) Hutchinson. Many grand-nieces and grand-nephews. She was also preceded in death by: four brothers, Ed, Frank, Chuck and Martin Houghtaling.
