MACCIOMEI, Marian (McGovern) - Age 79 , of Swartz Creek, passed away September 11, 2014 surrounded by her family. Funeral Mass will be held 11 AM Monday, September 15 at St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, 4413 Morrish Road, Swartz Creek, Fr. Louis Ekka celebrant and Fr. Steve Makranyi concelebrant. Entombment 2:30 PM Monday at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, where a Sons of Italy service will be held at 6 PM with a Rosary immediately following. Visitation will be 10 AM until time of service at the church on Monday.Those desiring may make contributions to Sons of Italy Scholarship Fund and Powers Catholic High School. Marian was a woman of incredible faith as a longtime member of St. Robert in Flushing and of St. Mary in Swartz Creek. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. A passionate sports fan, she supported the Tigers, Pistons, Lions, Red Wings, and all college sports. She enjoyed traveling with her husband Albert on adventures to Alaska, Florida, Italy, and Ireland. She was an active member of the Sons of Italy for many years. In her spare time, she loved watching old movies, especially Westerns. Marian was preceded in death by her sisters: Adele (Vic), Patricia, and Mary. She will be dearly missed. Marian is survived by her husband of 58 years, Albert; children, Feather-Mary Pat (Cindy Potter) Marianchild, Ann (Thomas) Smela, Margaret (Joseph) Bauer, Michael (Colleen) Macciomei, Jane (John) Auchter, David (Kris) Macciomei; 11 grandchildren; twin sister, Margaret (Dick) Daly; brother, Robert (Donna) McGovern; brothers in law, Don Gartland, Tom (Doris) Skinner and Dan (Beverly) Macciomei; many nieces and nephews.
