Marilyn K. Rising

Marilyn Kay Rising, age 79, of Haslett, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, peacefully with loved ones by her side. She was born on December 27, 1946, in Flint, Michigan.

She is survived by her two children, Heather (Brian) Mulligan and Chad (Christin) Rising; her grandchildren, Jarrett & Lane Mulligan and Grant, Nolan & Elena Rising.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Fredrick & Mary Ellen (Peters) Pickering; husband, Richard Leo Rising; her life partner, Thomas Michael Todd. She was a beloved granddaughter of Lucille Peters.

Marilyn enjoyed hosting holiday Bunco parties and summer backyard volleyball. She loved gardening, traveling, puzzles, and giraffes. Marilyn as a former member of Flushing United Methodist Church.
