Marjorie Jean Bucher, age 95, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2025. She was born in Flint, MI and spent her life in Swartz Creek.
Marjorie was proud to be a farmer’s daughter. Her early years shaped her deep connection to the land, her appreciation for nature, and her lifelong sense of resilience. She carried that spirit of curiosity and courage throughout her life. At the age of 75, she embarked on her first solo trip to Alaska, falling in love with its raw, untouched beauty. Those journeys became an important part of who she was—an adventurer at heart.
A dedicated rockhound, Marjorie also explored lapidary and jewelry making, transforming stones into art with patience and creativity. She was strong-willed, feisty, and fiercely independent—qualities that defined her and inspired those who knew her.
Marjorie is survived by her two children, Dayna Delling and Kane (Lynne) Bucher; 8 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren, with one more on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 children, Rick, Daniel and Kitty Bucher.
In keeping with her wishes, Marjorie chose not to have a funeral service. Those who want to honor her memory may make donations to their local animal shelter—an act of kindness she would have appreciated. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
