Mark Anthony Smith, 80 years young, passed away at his home June 4, 2025. He was born July 11, 1944 in Russellville, Arkansas to Steven Smith and Letha (Grossman) Smith. Mark retired as a Supervisor for General Motors at Buick Final Assembly in Flint in 1992. Mark was married to Gail (Ives) Stone and she predeceased him. He married Doreen (Mundy) Simens on December 1, 2004. Mark graduated from Swartz Creek High School in 1962 where he was a member of the Marching Band. He coached Little League Baseball and his hobbies were restoring cars/trucks, building and remodeling, gardening, and reading, especially history. Mark was a member of the Chesaning Seventh-day Adventist Church where his Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 22 at 2 pm. Mark is survived by his wife, Doreen and his sons mark (Michael), Michael (Jen), Mathew (Irina) and daughter Candy (Greg) Beldin, as well as stepchildren Ronald (Barbara) Simens, Christine (David) Thompson, Debra Amador, Amy Simens, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Chesaning Seventh-day Adventist Church 331 Clark St., P.O. Box 7, Chesaning, MI 48616. Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton.
