Mark David Proffer

PROFFER, Mark David - age 58 of Gaines, passed away July 17, 2025. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 Bristol Rd, Flint, MI 48507. The family will receive friends from 10 AM - 11 AM Saturday, August 9 at the church. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation (www.helpfightra.org/donations). Mark Proffer was born on August 7, 1966, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Robert and Joyce (Duran) Proffer. He graduated from Ainsworth High School in 1984 and went on to attend Olivet Nazarene University. Mark had a passion for motor sports and enjoyed riding motorcycles, stand-up Jet Skis, and snowmobiles. This passion was a family affair which led him to meet Jennifer Knerr when she was working in his uncles’ motorcycle shop. On September 5, 1992, the two were married, and spent the next 33 years taking as many rides as they could. Mark worked as a Title Examiner, having been in the Title industry for over 30 years, and was employed with Sun Title, where he was known for his dedication and attention to detail. Mark is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer; daughter, Bobbi Hinton; parents, Bob and Joyce Proffer; brother, Scott (Angie) Proffer; mother-in-law, Marge Brennan; brother-in-law, Robert Knerr; sisters-in-law, Cathy Knerr (Katie) and Wendy Brennan (Roger); as well as a niece and several nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
