CARTWRIGHT, Marlene Anne - Age 80, of Fenton, passed away Sunday, June 29, 2025. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00 AM Thursday, July 3, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton (The service will be live streamed below her obituary). Fr. David Harvey celebrant. Burial 10:00 AM Monday July 7, 2025 in Howell Memorial Cemetery, Howell. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, Wednesday from 4-8 PM and at church Thursday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.

Marlene was born September 24, 1944 in Ferndale, the daughter of Ralph and Odelia (Roumpz) Brown. She was a 1962 graduate of Howell High School, and she received an LPN degree in Nursing. She married Daniel Ellis Cartwright September 5, 1964 and he preceded her in death March 29, 2020. She had resided in Fenton since 1973 coming from Flint. Marlene retired from McPherson Hospital in Howell; and also, had been employed by Crestmont Nursing Home in Fenton. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Surviving are: her children, Daniel Cartwright of Alabama, Deborah Brewer of Brighton, Darrell Cartwright of Fenton and William (Holly Vik) Cartwright of Linden; 9 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren, sisters, Kathy Klopp of North Carolina and Estelle (Scott) Oliver of Troy; brothers, Ralph Wayne Brown of Arizona, Mark (Gale) Brown of Howell and Paul (Lori) Brown of Byron; sister-in-law, Jeanette Staschke of Detroit; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; great grandson, Nicholas Alan "Bean" Smart; and brother, Gilbert Brown. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
