Martin Russell Cottle

Martin Russell Cottle - age 93, of Byron, passed away on October 13, 2025. A memorial service will be held 2PM Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 Bristol Rd., Flint. Pastor Stephen Anthony will officiate. Visitation will be held 3-5 PM Saturday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Martin was born June 7, 1932 in West Branch, the son of Myron Russell and Julia Alice (Lathrop) Cottle. Martin was a veteran of the US Air Force, serving in the Korean War. He retired from General Motors after 40 years of service. His family was the love of his life. His wife, Joann; children, Cathy (Tom), Sharon (Mike), Jeff (Teresa), Lorrie, Jody (Lowell), Cristy (Jason); grandchildren, Todd (Rachel), Jamie (Don), Brei (David), Andy (Megan), Casey, Chad (Katie), Taylor (Maydeline), Kaylee (Marshall), Connor (Hope) and Kylie; great-grandchildren, Bryce (Iide), Elysa (Cody), Haley (Brian), CiCi (Jack), Madison, Evan, Jay, Tommy, Alex, Nolan, McKenna, Jaylee, Jase, Hudson, Parker and one on the way, Emerson; great great-grandchildren, Aleena, Hazel, Beckett, Isla, Ezra, Lilly, Benjamin, Jax, Ora and one on the way, Wesley; sister, Ruth Loomis. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Stanley, Paul, Robert, Joseph and Keith; sisters, Frances and Emily. The family extends a special thank you to Brei and the staff of Durand Senior Care & Rehab Center and Heart to Heart Hospice for taking such great care of Martin.
