Marty HAIN

December 29, 1945 — January 14, 2014

HAIN, Marty - Age 68, of Flint Township, passed away January 14, 2014 at Gentiva Hospice in Flint, Michigan. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Saturday, January 18 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Friday at the funeral home. Marty was born on December 29, 1945 in Augsburg, Germany, the son of Arved and Leili (Koho) Hain. He immigrated with his family to the United States in 1950. The family first lived in Millington, MI, and later moved to the Saginaw area. Marty graduated from Saginaw Buena Vista High School where he was a star halfback on the football team. He attended MSU and played football there during the 1964-1965 seasons. After graduating from MSU in 1968, he began his career with IBM in Flint, MI. On August 16, 1969 he married Janice Bennett in Saginaw, MI. In 1976, he started his own company, Dataware, Inc., and was a Flint area businessman for many years. In his spare time, Marty loved golfing, traveling and spending time with his 5 grandchildren. He was very proud of his Estonian heritage and treasured all the members of his extended Hain family. He was an avid MSU fan and a season football ticket holder for over 40 years. He belonged to the MSU Football Players Association and the MSU Alumni Club. Marty leaves his wife Janice, two daughters, Julie (Mark) Herron and Kellie (James) LaVallier; five grandchildren, Logan, Tristin, Bryce, Bryanna and Brylie; two brothers, Thomas (Beverly) Hain and Tony (Kathy) Hain; one sister, Lydia (Paul) Danek; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a great- niece Hannah Hain. The family would like to thank Comfort Keepers, Gentiva Hospice and Dr. Musa Haffajee for their excellent care.
