Marvenia Diem

DIEM, Marvenia C. - Age 86, of Flint, died March 20, 2023.  A service to celebrate her life will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Grand Blanc (A live stream of the service will be available on Marvenia's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com).  Fr. Thomas Firestone officiating.  Visitation will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.  Those desiring may make contributions to Flint Powers Catholic High School or St. John Vianney Catholic Church.

Marvenia was born July 6, 1936 in Eden, NC, the daughter of Marvin Edward and Carrie Mae (Allen) Hamlin.  She was a 1954 graduate of Flint Northern High School.  She had resided in Flint most of her life.  Marvenia married Raymond M. Diem January 31, 1965 in Flint.  She retired in 2000 from Swartz Creek Community Schools as a bus driver.  She was a member of St. John Vianney Catholic Church .  She enjoyed shopping, cooking, dancing, and spending time with family and friends.

Surviving are: her husband, Raymond; sons, Marvin (Bethany) Diem of Flushing and Ian Diem of Flint; grandsons, Miles Diem of Flushing and Leaf Diem of Flint; brother, Michael Hamlin; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Alpha Omega Boylston and Janet Mustafaa; and brother, John Hamlin.  Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
