Mary Agnes Hromek

HROMEK, Mary - age 85, of Durand, passed away June 24, 2025. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, July 12, 2025 at St. Mary Catholic Church, 700 Columbia Dr., Durand, MI with Fr. Arockiyasamy Santhiyagu, msfs celebrant. The family will receive friends from 10:30 AM - 11 AM Saturday, July 12 at the church.

Mary was born on January 7, 1940, in Wyandotte, Michigan, the daughter of William and Eileen (Murphy) Kazen. She graduated from St. Paul High School and was united in marriage to Robert Hromek on September 28, 1963, in Owosso. Mary was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Durand Eagles. She was an avid golfer who enjoyed traveling and visiting casinos with a large group of close friends.

Surviving are: husband, Robert Hromek; daughter, Dyana (Ted) Spiess of FL; grandson, Zachary Krug of NC; two brothers, John (Sandy) Kazen and Mick (Patty) Kazen and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Pat Kazen.
