COLE, Mary Lou - Age 82, of Linden, died Monday, March 13, 2017. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Rev. Donald Neuville officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 4-8 PM. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Linden Presbyterian Church. Mary was born August 6, 1934 in Flint, the daughter of Arthur Stevenson and Tillie Geneva (Ford) Boone. She married William George Cole April 25, 1961 in Flint. She had resided in Flint and Linden her entire life. Mary was a member of Linden Presbyterian Church and also was a Girl Scout Leader. She loved her family and friends dearly. She enjoyed talking to them and visiting them when she could. Mary was always eager to help care for those in need. She enjoyed going to garage sales and collecting knick knacks. Mary loved animals and took in many stray cats over the years, giving them a home with her. Surviving are: her husband of 55 years, William; 5 daughters, Betty Cole and Shirley Cole both of Linden, Rosemary, Betty, and Dorothy; 3 sons, Danny Smith of Standish, Clifford (Sharlene) Rose of Shelby Township, and Billy; granddaughter, Jessica Cole of Grand Blanc; brothers, Frank (Chris) Boone of Grand Blanc and Charles Boone of Au Gres; sister, Dorothy Frye of Flushing; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 brothers, Robert, William, and James Boone. Online tributes may be posted on the obituaries page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
