Mary Helen Dinneweth, age 83, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Born on January 4,1943 to Arthur and Ruth (Lough) Stamm in Detroit, Michigan, Mary lived a life marked by love, devotion, and creativity.
Married July 11th, 1964, she was the beloved wife of Edward Dinneweth and a devoted mother to her children, Edward II (Judith), Daniel, Mark (Lori), and her cherished daughter Barbara Blakelock (Kent). Mary was also a proud grandmother to Arthur, Margaret, Alexa, Johnathan, Allison (Devon Huggins) and Maddison, and a loving great-grandmother to Audrey Jo Dinneweth, Colin Huggins, and Bonnie Huggins. She is survived by her sister, Patricia (Ronald Wells), and many beloved nephews and nieces, extended family members and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur Stamm and Ruth (Lough) Stamm; her brothers, Kenneth Arthur (Carole Kirby), James Lewis (Duana), her sister, Ruth Elizabeth; and her nieces, Janice Miller (Wells), Susan Stamm, and Christine Humm (Gliga).
A gifted seamstress, Mary had a lifelong passion for sewing. She often joked that she was "addicted" to buying fabric-a love that shone through in her beautiful work and the joy she found working at Jo-Ann Fabrics. Above all, her greatest calling was raising her family. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a mother, a role she embraced with unwavering love.
After raising her four children, she entered a joyful era of world travel with her close group of friends. Together, they explored more than 20 destinations including, Spain, England, France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, British Columbia, Alaska, Hawaii, Hong Kong and, of course, many favorite spots throughout Michigan, providing her a lifetime of wonderful memories and enduring friendships.
To celebrate Mary’s incredible talent and generous heart, guests are invited to bring the hand-sewn bears she made for them over the years. The family hopes to display these special keepsakes during the service as a beautiful reminder of the joy she shared with us all.
