She furthered her education at Mott Community College. Glenda married the love of her life, Charles D. Gibson Jr. on November 15, 1969, in Flint, Michigan. They were blessed with their son, Bradley, in 1973. Glenda worked as a teacher's aide in the Carman-Ainsworth school district. Glenda and Charles then moved to Tennessee in 1996. There, she taught at and retired from Lawrence County School District in 2012. She was a woman of faith and enjoyed reading her Bible and attending church. Glenda was an active member of Mars Hill Baptist Church where she was involved in many ministries.

Glenda was an award-winning photographer, and participated in the Middle Tennessee District Fair. She won many first-place prizes, and her photos were well loved. She spent time fishing, reading, traveling, and played Pickleball several days a week. She enjoyed walking her dogs on their property and was an animal lover her entire life. Her fondest memories were those spent with her family, especially her grandchildren who were her pride in joy in life. She will be missed dearly.
