Mary Anne Hayes

HAYES, Mary Anne - Age 69, of Grand Blanc, passed away, Saturday, September 7, 2024. A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, September 12, 2024, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Peter Ahlersmeyer officiating. Visitation will be 1:00 PM until the time of service on Thursday.

Mary was born October 6, 1954, in Flint, the daughter of Henry and Ethel Marie (Potter) VanBeest. She married Daniel Lee Hayes in Lake Fenton on February 29, 1996. Mary graduated from Fenton High School in 1972. She attended Kirkland College and later Oakland University. Mary was employed as a Kindergarten and Second Grade Teacher for the Lake Fenton School District. She was a very active member at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fenton where she assisted with the Young at Heart Program. Mary loved the Fall season and traveling. She loved life and was very devoted to her family and students. Mary always had a smile on her face. 

Mary is survived by, her daughters, Angela Ogle, Bobbi Denham, Stephanie Mancusso, Shannon McLaurine, and Sara Flewelling; grandchildren, Brittany Anne, Tyler James, Brandon Lee; siblings, Dick (Toni) VanBeest, Vickie Jeffers, Henry VanBeest, Bill (Nancy) VanBeest; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
