Mary Milne

MILNE, Mary Ella - Age 89, of Swartz Creek, died July 16, 2017. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10:00 AM Friday July 21, 2017 at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, 7296 Gale Rd. Goodrich, Fr. Michael Kuchar celebrant. Visitation will be held 2-4 PM and 5-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Flint with a 7:30 PM Vigil service, visitation Friday will be at the church from 9 AM until the time of the mass. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimers Association or the Mrs. Mary Milne Scholarship Fund at Powers Catholic High School. Mary was born February 10, 1928 in Detroit the daughter of Francis T. and Estella M. (Quinn) Hayes. Mary was a 1946 graduate of St. Rita's Catholic School. She married Thomas J. Milne on April 14, 1956 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on August 19, 1991. Mary worked for Detroit Edison for ten tears and was proud to have been the first female in management. Later she worked at Swartz Creek Schools as a teachers aide. She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Goodrich, and former member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church, Swartz Creek. She had volunteered for the American Red Cross. She loved the outdoors, snow-skiing, and playing softball. Most importantly she was devoted to her family. She is survived by her children, Thomas (Gina) Milne of Bradford, MA, Diane (Tony) Mamut of Highland, Gerald (Francine) Milne of Fenton, William (Jennie) Milne of Goodrich, Barbara Ann (Tommy) Perkins of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Matthew, Allie, Marybeth, Michael, Ryan, Tony, Danielle, Abby, Caroline, Kaylie, Mattie, Austin, and Anna; great-grandchildren, Dylan and Logan; sister, Maureen (Stewart) Dunlap; brothers-in-law, Ken (Donna) Milne, Byron Villacres; sister-in-law, Betty Jo Hayes; many nieces and nephews. Mary was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Frank Hayes, Robert (Katy) Hayes; sister, Dorothy Villacres; brother-in-law, George Milne .
