WARDIE, Mary Uletha – Age 81, of Fenton, surrounded by her family in prayer, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, October 26, 2025.

A memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at First Baptist Church of Fenton, 860 N Leroy St, Fenton. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service. Interment will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, alongside her beloved husband, Joseph Lee Wardie, who preceded her in death in 2021.

Mary was born April 15, 1944, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, the daughter of William Lee and Mildred Susie (Seyfried) Salmon. She married Joseph Wardie in Fenton on March 17, 1963. Mary graduated from Fenton High School in 1962, and went on to Baker Business School in Flint, Michigan. She served as a civilian secretary for the US Air Force for 2 years while her husband was stationed at Selfridge Air Force Base in Mt Clemens, Michigan, before becoming a stay-at-home mother and homemaker. Mary loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, who she adored, and who lovingly called her “Nama”.

Surviving are: daughter, Amy (Matthew) Rechsteiner of Attica; son, Joseph (Dorothy) Wardie of Fenton; grandchildren, Jonathan (Kendyl) Rechsteiner of Grand Rapids, Jacob (Lucy) Rechsteiner of Plano, Illinois, Joseph (Star) Rechsteiner of Fenton, Joshua Rechsteiner of Attica, Jack Rechsteiner of Fenton, Nathan (Micaela) Sprague of Burton, Reagan (Brittany) Wardie of Jonesborough, Tennessee, Quinn (Drew) Nelson of Jarrell, Texas, Shane Wardie, Miles Wardie and Kalicia Wardie, all of Fenton. She is also survived by her beloved sister, Kathy (Ray) Lertola of The Woodlands, Texas, several nephews and nieces, and several special friends.
