Mary Kathryn WHALEN

WHALEN, Mary Kathryn - Age 92, of Fenton, died July 11, 2013. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Monday, July 15, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. Kurian Kollapallil celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton with a vigil service at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held on Monday from 10 AM until the time of Mass. Those desiring may make contributions to the American Diabetes Association. Mary was born March 27, 1921 in St. Ignace, MI, the daughter of Otho and Mary Evelyn (Dennis) Coveyou. Mary was a member of St. John Parish for 65 years, enjoyed gardening and sewing. Surviving are: children, Kitty (Reg) Horning, Ed Whalen, Mary Anne Whalen, Patty Armstrong, Kerry Whalen, T.J. (Paula) Whalen, Dan Whalen; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and two on the way; sister, Elenor Fitzpatrick; brother, Francis Coveyou; sister-in-law, Peggy Coveyou; many nieces and nephews.
