Matthew Davison Iii

Matthew Davison III was born in Flint, MI to Matthew Davison Jr. and Margaret Cumings Davison. Matthew is survived by his son Matthew Davison IV (Christina), daughter Katherine (Charles), their mother Susanne and his beloved grandsons Benjamin, Zachary, William and Matthew. He is also survived by his brother William Davison (Diane), brother-in-law James Kettler and many nieces and nephews. Matthew was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Anne Kettler and brothers Charles Davison and James Davison. Matthew was a graduate of the Taft School in Watertown, CT and Denison University in Grandville, OH where he was a member of the Beta Theta Pi Fraternity. He served in the United States Army and was stationed at Fort Gordon, GA. Matthew joined the Weyerhaeuser Company in 1959 and worked in Everett, WA, Chicago, IL and New York, New York. Matthew was a member of the Flint Genealogical Society and spent years researching the Davison, Cumings and McCreery families. Matthew was a member of the Wigwam Duck Club, The Flint Elks Club, The Flint YMCA and the Mayflower Society. He was passionate about golf, basketball, duck hunting, decoy carving, bluegrass music and enjoyed attending basketball games at the local Flint high schools and the University of Michigan. A memorial service is planned on Friday, January 27th at 11:00AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Flint with visitation prior to the service at 10:30AM. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Flint Institute of Music or the Flint Public Library.
