Wendling, Maudie Marie - Age 79, of Fenton, passed away December 18, 2025. The family will receive friends from 12 PM - 3 PM Monday, December 29, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton, MI 48430. Maudie was born on September 2, 1946, in Bevinsville, Kentucky, the daughter of Tony and Gallie (Hall) Slone. She was united in marriage to Mark Allan Wendling on December 23, 1977. Maudie had a deep love for cooking and baking and took great pride in caring for her family and her home. She was especially well known for her homemade biscuits and gravy. In her free time, she enjoyed decorating, crafting, and creating beautiful floral arrangements. Maudie was never afraid to take on a project and was always eager to work alongside Mark on whatever task needed to be done. She is survived by her loving husband, Mark Wendling; her son, Sean (Christie) Newsome; three grandchildren, Eastyn (Stephan) Koclejda, Emersyn Newsome (James Robert Coverty IV), and Brayden Newsome (Ally); one great-grandson, James Robert Coverty V; her niece, Treva (Joe) Beagle; and many other nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tony and Gallie Slone; and her siblings, Rose (Lonnie) Slone, Delmas Slone, Ronald Slone, and Terry Slone.
