MARKIN, Maxie Bill "Billie" - age 84, of Swartz Creek, died Friday, May 24, 2013. Funeral services will be held 5 PM Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Pastor Larry Survance will officiate. Burial in Cardwell Cemetery, Cardwell, MO. Visitation will be held from 1 PM until the time of service. Billie was born December 5, 1928 in Monette, Arkansas, the daughter of Thomas Clarence and Eva Mae (Darden) Burton. She married J.T. Markin at age 15 in Paragould, AR. In 1954 they moved to Flint, they were Associate Pastors at Fenton A/G (The Freedom Center), together they started Durand A/G, Perry A/G, Swartz Creek A/G and Full Gospel A/G. Following retirement they remained active members of Assemblies of God Michigan District. Mrs. Markin is survived by her daughters, Carol Jean (Neal) Neurohr, Maretta Dian Hampton; 5 grandchildren including, Josh JJ (Jessica) Markin, Acacia NBM (Greg) Cavness-Savoie; 11 great-grandchildren including, James Thomas Markin, Jayna Mae Markin; 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers, Tom Burton, Bruce (Debbie) Burton; sister, Pat Gage. She was preceded in death by husband, Rev. J.T Markin; 3 brothers, Mack Burton, Johnny Burton and Jack Burton; sister, Maedean Huddleston.
