Maxine E. DART

DART, Maxine E. - Age 85, of Flint formerly of Swartz Creek, died Tuesday, September 6, 2011. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, September 9, 2011 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Rev. Kevin Harbin will officiate. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-7:30 PM Thursday and 12:00 PM until the time of service Friday. Those desiring may make contributons to Nathan's Place, 7471 W. Cook Rd., Swartz Creek or the United Methodist Church of Swartz Creek. Maxine was born June 29, 1926 in Linden, the daughter of Willard and Onalee (Roska) Brimley. She graduated from Swartz Creek in 1944 and received her Bachelor's Degree from Eastern Michigan University. Maxine was married to Donald L. Dart on January 18, 1947; he preceded her in death on March 12, 2010. Mrs. Dart retired from Swartz Creek Schools in 1987, where she taught for 26 years. She was also a member of the Flint Genealogical Society. Maxine and her husband enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the years. Surviving are children; Nancy (Jim) Staley, Cheryl Jones (Aden Allen), Craig (Laveda) Dart, Debbie (Jeff) Cook; grandchildren, Lisa, Sandra, Daryl, Brian, Nathan, Jared, Brandon and Nicholas; 5 great grandchildren and brother, John (Rita) Brimley.
