Merle Leroy Lalonde

Merle L. LaLonde, age 82, of Swartz Creek, passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2023. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 1:30 pm on Thursday, November 16, 2023 a Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road in Holly, Michigan. Sharp Funeral Home - Miller Road Chapel has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. 

Merle was born on October 8, 1941 in Alma, Michigan to the late Robert & Bernice LaLonde. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy. He was employed with General Motors as a dye maker for thirty-six years before retiring in 1999. 

He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Ellen LaLonde; his son, Craig (Penny) LaLonde: stepdaughter, Shawn (Raymond) Kerspilo and many beloved grandchildren; his two sisters, Lucille (Raymond) Rhines and Carol Jean Shepard; his brother, Jerry (Kathy) LaLonde and many step-grandchildren. Merle is further survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. 

Merle was preceded in death by his parents, Robert (Bernice) LaLonde; his daughter, Carrie LaLonde-Johnson; brothers, James and Donald and sisters, Elberta and Roberta. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
