CURTIS, Meroa M. - Age 99, of Flint, died Friday, January 27, 2017 at Rosehaven Nursing Home. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Curtis was born January 8, 1918 in Wexford Township, MI, the daughter of Alfred B. and Jennie V. (Bailey) Craven and was a 1936 graduate of Flint Central High School. She married Herbert E. Curtis on February 5, 1942 and he preceded her in death on April 16, 1990. Mrs. Curtis was a receptionist for Dr. Lewis and had worked at AC Delco for five years during World War II. She enjoyed reading, especially biographies and playing Scrabble. Mrs. Curtis spent much of her time with her husband at their cottage in the Upper Peninsula on the St. Mary River fishing and spending time in the outdoors. She also served at a Deaconess at Bethany Presbyterian Church. Surviving are: three children, Thomas E. Curtis of Essexville, Rodney L. (Cindy) Curtis of Flint Twp., and Diane Curtis of Grand Rapids; three grandchildren, Geoffrey (Holly) Curtis of Grand Blanc, Brian (Missy) Curtis of South Carolina, and Wendy (Aaron) Cramer of Illinois; six great-grandchildren, Colin, Benjamin, Nicolas, Mathieu, Joseph and Ellie; many nieces and nephews.
