Michael John Harris, 75, of Fenton, Michigan, died Sunday 23 November at his home.
Born in 1950, graduated from Milford High in 1968 and Flint Community College in 1972, Mike became a successful mechanical design engineer until retirement in 2020. He married his wife Cindy in 1972 and they had two children—Shannon Nicole Tischbein (d.2022) and Skot Michael Harris.
Mike was an avid hunter and fisherman, a lifelong passionate golfer, classic Corvette enthusiast, brilliant problem solver, great griller, devout University of Michigan football fan, and his favourite curse word was "Jiminy Crickets!"
He once gave his son the great advice, "No job is worth your tears” (and he was right!), and his tough guy bravado quickly melted whenever he was around his wife and granddaughters or cuddling his cat, GusGus.
He is survived by his wife, Cindy (Fenton, MI); sons, Skot and Karl Woods (London, England) and Kurt Tischbein (Linden, MI), and three granddaughters, Julia, Emma and Abbey Tischbein.
In lieu of a funeral, a memorial service will be held at a later date. Please leave online remembrances at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Be sure to show Mike some love by playing Willie Nelson's "Red Headed Stranger" album or hitting golf balls in his honour. He'd smirk and give a wink as thanks.
