Michael was born August 29, 1955 in Whiteville, NC, the son of T.S. and Irene (Ohnsorge) Merritt. He is survived by his 4 siblings, Thomas Sherwood (Marilyn) Merritt, Dennis (D'Ann) Merritt, Deborah Ward and Doris Gruzd; several nieces and nephews. Michael was preceded in death by his parents.
