Michael "Pastor Mike" C. Horne Sr., age 66, of Otisville, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 18, 2024. Visitation will be held at 2pm - 7pm on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Sharp Funeral Home Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road in Grand Blanc. Visitation will resume Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 12pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 1pm at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Grand Blanc. Mike was born on September 17, 1957 in Flint, Michigan to the late Euwell & Dora Horne. He graduated from LakeVille High School class of 1975. Mike was employed as a welder at General Motors for over 30 years before he retired in 2008. However, his true vocation was serving the Lord by sharing God’s love and word. Mike answered God's call at the age of 12 and began preaching to anyone who would listen. His first official pastoral position was at Alba, Michigan - Pentecostal Church of God in 1982. Following his retirement from GM, Mike returned to full time ministry at Guiding Light Tabernacle, the very church where he and his wife, Lynn were married. Mike's ministries were of the utmost importance to him. He loved reading and sharing God's word. He ministered at Carriage Town the second Friday of every month; this is something that he took great joy in doing. As a family man and friend Mike was "all in"; he made every effort to be present for those that he loved. Mike followed sports and was somewhat of a stats keeper. He was also a very talented musician; playing drums, guitar, harmonica and singing; always to Praise his Lord, Jesus Christ. Above all Mike loved his family dearly (especially his grandchildren) and made every effort to always be there supporting them in all their endeavors.
He is survived by his wife, Lynn Horne; three children, Michael "Mike" Jr. (Silinia) Horne; Philip (Christina) Horne and Matthew (Shana) Horne; four grandchildren, Melody (fiancé Kevin Zender) Horne, Tyler Horne, Julianna Horne and Matthew Horne Jr., sister, Elly (Pat) Holloway. Mike is further survived by his mother-in-law, Virginia Jensen, extended family, Roseann and many other dear family members.
In addition to his parents Euwell & Dora Horne, Mike was preceded in death by father-in-law, Robert Jensen.
