Michael Wayne Monroe

Monroe, Michael Wayne - Age 78, of Swartz Creek, passed away June 25, 2026, at his daughter's home surrounded by family. A committal service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4142 Flushing Rd., Flint. Michael was born August 12, 1947, in Flint, Michigan, the son of Evan and Mary (Vohwinkle) Monroe. He was a 1965 graduate of Ainsworth High School and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp, serving from 1967-1973. Michael retired from EDS after 33 years of service. After retirement he worked at Flint Auto Auction from 2002-2020 it was a job he loved. Michael was known for his sharp wit and love of cars. Surviving are: two children, Michael Monroe; Amy (James) Tack; six grandchildren, Mason, Tyler, Zoe, Jacqueline, Jack and Katherine; special grand pup, Lola; three siblings, Cheryl Ware, Dan (Patti) Monroe, and Tim (Shirley) Monroe; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Maureen Carroll. He was preceded in death by his parents; Uncle Pike and Aunt Jackie; and brother-in-law, Gordon Ware.
