Michael H. PICKERING

PICKERING, Michael H. -- Age 55 Passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at his residence in Mt. Morris. Mike was born on July 28, 1957 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Woodrow H. Pickering, M.D. and the late Phyllis E. Pickering. A 1975 graduate of Flint Northern High School, Mike was known for his athletic abilities in Track, football, downhill skiing and barefoot water skiing. He was an excellent hairstylist, receiving his license in cosmetology in 1979, and placed first in the state in men's hairstyling competition. He owned his own hairstyling business for many years. Mike loved dogs, adopting several shelter dogs in his lifetime, and enjoyed working on cars; his favorite being the classic Lincoln Continental Mark IV. Mike is survived by his father, Woodrow H. Pickering, M.D.; his sister Ann Pickering; his brother David Pickering, and wife Sherry; his sister Nancy Boyer, and husband Lyle; nieces, Amber, Nicole, Renee and Sadie; many cousins, and his dog Lulu. Cremation will take place and a private memorial will be held at a later date.
