AUSTIN, Mildred May - Age 96, of Linden, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at her residence. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 806 Main St., Fenton, with Pastor Dean Dumbrille offciating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Home, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Wednesday from 1-9 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church Womens Guild. Mrs. Austin was born May 30, 1914 in Highland Township, the daughter of Ward Randall and Nina Vivian (Michael) Moored. She was a 1932 graduate of Flint Northern High School. She married Willard Francis Austin and he preceded her in death October of 1987. Mrs. Austin retired in 1975 from the City of Highland Park as Chief Clerk after 18 1/2 years of service. She had resided in Linden since 1975, coming from Highland Park. She was a very active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fenton, past president of the Linden Seniors and the Linden Research Club. Surviving are: son, Richard and wife Melba Austin of Westland; daughter, Linda Austin of Linden; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters, Dorothy Barrett, Rosemarie (Tiny) Plourd and Dixie Nelson.
