Mildred A. Charles

CHARLES, Mildred A. age 77, of Swartz Creek and Flint Township, died April 29, 2005 at home. Funeral services will be 11AM Tuesday May 3, 2005 at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 6273 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek. Dr. Roy L. McLaughlin officiating. Interment in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2-4 and 6-8PM Sunday and Monday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd. Swartz Creek. Memorial Contributions may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church or Genesys Hospice. Mildred was born November 17, 1927 in Flint, the daughter of Alvin and Dorothy (Weibeck) Westenfeld. She married Dallas E. Charles on August 6, 1949 in Flint and he preceded her in death in 1979. Mildred was employed at McLaren Regional Medical Center for 15 years, retiring in 1991, and she was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Swartz Creek. Surviving are her daughter, Brenda and husband Gerald Timmins of Swartz Creek; 3 sons, Richard and wife Lauren Charles of Flint, Kevin and wife Teresa Charles of Hale, Brian and wife Betty Charles of Hale; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer, Janice, Tifanee, James, Nathan, Bradley, Anthony, Sarah, Derek, Jessica, Stephanie; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold Westenfeld, Gene and wife Donna Westenfeld; sister, Marion and husband William Charles. She was preceded in death by her husband Dallas; son Allen; granddaughter Wendy; Parents; and sister Elaine.
