Milicent Edel MAJOR

MAJOR, Milicent Edel - Age 91, of Fenton, died Saturday, October 19, 2013. Funeral services will be held 5:00 PM Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton. Burial in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Sleepy Hollow, New York. Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society. Mrs. Major was born July 10, 1922 in Warroad, MN, the daughter of Alex and Caroline (Landin) Anderson. She married Warren Louis Major June 25, 1950 and he preceded her in death October 19, 1984. She taught at Cody Elementary in Flint. She had resided in the Flint area since 1955. Mrs. Major was a former member of Salem Lutheran Church in Flint. She also was a member of the Grand Blanc Senior Center where she directed the senior choir for 12 years. Surviving are: daughter, Martha "Marty" Major-Norton and husband Dr. William Norton II of Fenton; grandson, Ian Major and wife January of Florida; great grandson, Mason Major of Florida; sister, Evelyn Anderson and husband Douglas of Flint. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Alex and Caroline Anderson; as well as her son, Dwight Louis Major; and brother, Harley Anderson.
