Mona Kay Sliger, age 89, of Davison, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at her home. The family and friends will gather from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. At 5:30 PM Thursday the family will open for praying and sharing of memories.
Mona was born on August 17, 1936, in Flint the daughter of the late Myron and Siddie (Howlett) Long. She was a loving, caring and supportive mother and grandmother, who cherished her time spent with family. Mona was united in marriage to her loving husband on February 14, 1953 in Flint. Sadly, he preceded her in death. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Stars and enjoyed clogging in her free time. Mona was a master-puzzler and loved traveling and short trips to the casino.
She is survived by her loving children, Pamela Richards, Susan (Robert) Simpson, Leo Sliger Jr, David (Jacqueline) Sliger, Gary Sliger, Bud (Marilyn) Sliger, and Bethany Sliger; and her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mona was preceded in death by her, grandson, Scott Vandercook; son-in-law, Daniel Richards; and 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
