GUERTIN, Myrna Marie, age 85, of Linden, passed away Wednesday, February 18, 2026. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Saturday, February 28, 2026 at St. John Chapel of the Holy Innocents, 600 N. Adelaide St., Fenton. Fr. Robert Copeland Celebrant. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Friday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Rd., Fenton, with a rosary at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held on Saturday from 10AM until the time of Mass at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
Myrna was born on October 11, 1940, in Manistique, Michigan, to the late George and Leona (Welch) Schneider. She graduated from Manistique High School with the Class of 1959. On June 13, 1959, she was united in marriage to Gerald Guertin, who preceded her in death on November 8, 2021. Myrna worked for several years in retail and home interior design, where she shared her creativity and eye for detail. Above all, she cherished her family. She found great joy in cooking, planning parties, and welcoming loved ones into her home for special occasions. Time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was especially meaningful to her.
In her free time, Myrna had a deep love for music. She played the piano and took pride in teaching others to play. She was also talented in sewing and painting, and she enjoyed settling in with a good book. Myrna will be remembered for her creativity, her love of music, and the warmth she brought to family gatherings and everyday life.
She is survived by her children, Donna (Dana) Thompson, Christopher Guertin, David (Deborah) Guertin, Lisa Briggs, Shari Guertin, Annette (Jason) Pinder and Peter (Doni) Guertin; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Sharon Shafer (Robert); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Myrna was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Mark Briggs; and sisters, Patricia Ketcik and Janice Henry. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com
