Nancy Kathryn BELL

BELL, Nancy Kathryn - Age 88, of Swartz Creek, died January 24, 2014 at Genesys Health Park. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Sunday, January 26 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek, Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. Private Interment Monday in Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held 3-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home. Nancy was born July 11, 1925 in Huntsville, AL, the daughter of Edgar Arden Edwards and Bertha Mae (Brannum) Edwards. She was married to Robert Joseph Bell Sr. on November 9, 1942 in Selma, AL; he preceded her in death January 24, 2003. Nancy worked on the assembly line helping to make corvette engines in 1953. She worked in optometry making glasses while they lived in Arizona for 10 years, and then again when they returned to the Flint area. Nancy loved gardening, animals, bowling, playing cards, and her grandchildren. She made friends wherever she went. Surviving are: daughter Marilyn and husband John Johnston of Linden; son, James and wife Karen Bell of Swartz Creek; four grandchildren, Tami and husband David Smith, Robert J. Bell III and wife Krista, James Bell, Eric Bell; several great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Robert J.
