Nancy Clare PERO

PERO, Nancy Clare - age 87, of Swartz Creek, died Monday, January 27, 2014 at Genesys Health Park. A memorial mass will be celebrated 11:30 AM Friday, January 31, 2014 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G3139 Hogarth Ave, Flint with Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. The family will receive friends from 1-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek where a scripture service will be held at 7 PM Thursday evening. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Abilities First Charitable Organizations of Michigan Auxiliary, make checks payable to AFCO of MI Auxiliary and mail to Nancy Atchenson, 2167 Fox Hill Dr. #2, Grand Blanc, MI 48439. Nancy was born December 24, 1926 in Flint, the daughter of Al J. and Clara (Trudell) Wachowski. She graduated from St. Michael High School and married Donald Frank Pero on June 18, 1949. Nancy was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church where she served in the Altar Society, and was also a member of the Easter Seals Auxiliary. Nancy was a loving wife of 64 years and a caring mother and grandmother. She had a great sense of humor, and loved her card clubs. Surviving are: husband, Donald of Swartz Creek; five children, Kathy (David) Allan of Marquette, Nancy (Mark) Conklin of Marquette, Cindee (Ronald) Shortt of Swartz Creek, Donald (Lisa) Pero II of Charlevoix, Dan (Kathy) Pero of Swartz Creek; 11 grandchildren, Andy Allan, Jodie Metty, Tony Conklin, Carley Jensen, Brian Shortt, Brent Shortt, Tiffany Evans, Dustin Pero, Brandon Pero, Brianne Pero, and Brett Pero; 12 great-grandchildren, Ava, Parker, Samuel, Eli, Lucas, Lyla, Ethan, Brooklynn, Jillian, new baby Shortt, Hannah and Isaac; two sisters, Sally Spring of Petoskey and Shirley Holzworth of Winston-Salem, NC.
