Naomi Ewing

EWING, Naomi Ellen -Age 85, of Fenton, died Sunday, August 30, 2015. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at Fenton United Methodist Church, 119 S. Leroy St., Fenton. Rev. Jeff L. Jaggers officiating. Visitation will be held at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton Tuesday, September 8, 2015 from 3-8 PM and at church Wednesday September 9, 2015 from 10:00 AM until the time of service. Those desiring may make contributions to the Fenton United Methodist Church for the Family Center. Naomi was born October 9, 1929 in Monroe the daughter of Orvice Wade and Ruth L. (Johnson) Albring. She was a graduate of Whitmer High School and received her Associates in Nursing from Mott Community College. She married Charles E. Ewing December 30, 1947 in Toledo, OH. She had resided in the Fenton/Linden area most of her life. Naomi was employed by the Fenton Community Schools, then was employed by Hospice for Communities from 1977-1987 as an RN, giving respite care for families of cancer patients. She also was employed by the Flint Children's Center from 1977-1987, retiring in 1987. Surviving are: her husband of 67 years, Charles E. Ewing; daughter, Marsha J. McCoury of New Hudson; sons, Dr. David Ewing and wife Leslie of Linden, Mark Ewing and wife Ellen of Frankenmuth, and Douglas Ewing of Salt Lake City, UT; 8 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; sister, Betty Mann of Normal, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Esther Everett, Lois Bevelhymer; and brothers, Robert and Neil Albring.
