Neil Raymond BRAUN

BRAUN, Neil Raymond - age 76, of Linden, died Monday, November 12, 2012. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Monday, November 19, 2012 at St. Jude Episcopal Church, 106 E. Elizabeth St., Fenton with Rev. Joshua Hoover officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 AM Monday until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Episcopal Church. Neil was born November 18, 1935 in South Lyon, the son of Raymond Walter and Isla Irene (Wooster) Braun. He married Theresa Marie Babcock on February 15, 1958 in Redford. Neil was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Korean War. He retired from GM Proving Grounds as a test driver and was a member of UAW Locals 652 and 594. He had also been employed by McPherson Oil and Standard Oil. Neil was a life time member of St. George Episcopal Church in Milford and St. Jude Episcopal Church in Fenton and was a life member of American Legion Post 216 in Milford. Besides his roles as grandfather, father and husband, he was most proud of his service as an active and dedicated volunteer firefighter in Milford for twenty-five years. Surviving are: wife, Theresa Braun of Linden; four children, Ann and husband, Michael Leftridge of Stockbridge, MI, Jeffrey Braun and wife, Amy McVeigh of Shanghai, China, Nancy and husband, Fred Kneuss of Saginaw, Eric Braun of Linden; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; two sisters, Arlene and husband, Warner Krause of Northville, Kay Ann and husband, Jon Fisher of South Lyon; many nieces and nephews.
