Norma Jean July

JULY, Norma Jean (Carrell) - Age 85, of Burton, passed away Saturday, September 6, 2026. Cremation has taken place and no service will be held at this time.

Norma was born December 3, 1940 in Flint, the daughter of Alfred and Opal (Lakey) Carrell. She attended Bentley High School. She married Lorne R. July March 10, 1956 in Flint and he preceded her in death November 19, 2017. She had resided in Burton her entire life. Norma retired from Bentley Community Schools as a cook after 22 years of service. She enjoyed cooking, crafting, gardening, flowers, and most of all spending time with her family.

Surviving are: her loving children, Keith (Sandy) July of Charlotte, Teresa (Curtis) Pennell of Bay City, Lorne (Kim) July of Avoca, and Carla Bedore of Burton; daughter-in-law, Pam July of Grand Blanc; 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Douglas July; grandson, Mark July; and brothers, Gary Wehrly and LaVern Carrell. The family wishes to extend special thanks to the staff at Courtyard Manor in Swartz Creek and to Jenny from Heart to Heart Hospice, for the loving care they gave to Norma.
