Norman L. NEMES Sr.

NEMES, Norman L. Sr. - Age 78, of Grand Blanc, died March 30, 2014. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, April 3, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint. Rev. Naylo Hopkins will officiate. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Wednesday. Burial will be held at a later date at Evergreen Cemetery. Those desiring may make contributions to the National Parkinson Foundation. Norm was born August 21, 1935 in Flint, the son of Frank Joseph and Veva (Reynolds) Nemes. He was married to Helen Barnhart on June 25, 1960 at Lincoln Park United Methodist Church in Flint. Norm was an outdoorsman. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, feeding the birds and squirrels and vacationing in the U.P. He was an avid fan of the Detroit Tigers. He had worked in the construction industry for many years. Surviving are: wife, Helen; son, Norman L. Nemes Jr.; daughter, Nancy Phillips; grandson, Quenton Phillips; sisters, Thelma Smith and Sheila (Gordon) Bailey; brother, Charles Williams; sister-in-law, Alice Jagger; many nieces and nephews; K9 companion, Rocky and his cat, Sylvester. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Frank Nemes; sisters, Betty Mecum, Patricia Griffin, Phyllis Bavier.
