Obituary for Scott Lee Hatt

HATT, Scott Lee - age 45, of Byron, died Friday, September 7, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by family & friends. Scott was the founding member of “Team Scott”, which seems to have consisted of the entire village of Byron, MI and many others from all over. “If Love could heal, Scott would have been the healthiest person in town.” A celebration of life will be held at 3 PM on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Home’s temporary location at the Hill Creek Church of God, 5363 Hill Rd., Swartz Creek (Mundy Township). A social gathering will be held following the service until 6 PM at the church, anyone running late (on “Julie-time”) feel free to stop in anytime between 4 & 6. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Byron High School Sports Boosters. Scott was born January 28, 1973 in Howell, the son of Marvin and Veronica (Morse) Hatt. He was a 1991 graduate of Fowlerville High School where he played football, basketball and baseball. He married Julie Brittain in 1996. Scott was a Regional Support Manager with Roche Diagnostics and he was a member of Wildfire Church in Morrice. Scott’s interests included farming, monster trucks, fishing, music, vacationing and hunting with his girls. He was an avid NASCAR fan who loved to follow his favorite driver Erik Jones (of Byron) #20. Scott loved to go fast! Mostly, Scott was a family man, active in all his daughter's sporting events and loved spending time with family and friends. Surviving are: wife of 22 years, Julie Hatt; two daughters, McKenna and Maylee Hatt of Byron; parents, Marvin and Veronica Hatt of Fowlerville; sister, Lisa (Tim) Wood of Byron; father-in-law, Frank (Kathy) Brittain; mother-in-law, Donna Brittain; brother in-laws Scott (Keely Russell) Brittain of Byron and Mike (Karen) Brittian of Mentor, Ohio; sister-in-law Kelly Norber of Farmington Hills; many special nieces and nephews and a special great-nephew; faithful dog Mason; and many exceptional friends who were with him to the end. Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents and more recently his aunt, Diane Morse. The family asks that you spend time with your family and friends, maybe take a walk on the beach or watch NASCAR on Sunday and root for #20. The family wishes to thank Team Scott members for their support and astounding generosity which has been more than they were expecting or prepared for. Words cannot express their thankfulness.
